As a classical guitarist, I am faced with a unique challenge: When I was two years old, I severed a tendon in the middle finger of my right hand. As a result, I can not move the first joint of that finger. This makes it necessary for me to have an unorthodox right hand technique for fingerstyle playing. In fact, I am still experimenting with different ways to overcome this obstacle. It is my Achilles’ heel, but I consider it a labor of love.
One day, I plan to record the complete 43 Ghiribizzi for solo guitar by Nicolo Paganini. I have actually had them memorized for some time now, but, due to my right hand, I cannot perform them the way I would like. In the meantime, below are videos of me practicing a few of the Ghiribizzi.
